The 7,000 sq. ft. SunLodge functions as a centre for community gatherings, traditional teachings, celebrations and ceremonies.
Its octagonal shape honours our Elder Brother the Sun, whose rays of light provide the energy that sustains all life. The structure contains the visions and stories of our Elders who guided us to this place. It represents our spiritual foundation as Anishinaabe people.
There are seven bunkhouse cabins where participants can arrange to stay. Each cabin contains sleeping for 6 and a washroom with a shower.
One of the more recent addition to our village is a craft-house where groups can gather to learn about the crafting of various traditional items such as drums, rattles, skirts and shirts.
We have a range of equipment for people to join us for land-based experiences and excursions. Our equipment includes ATVs, snowmobiles, 2 boats, fishing and ice fishing gear, snowshoes, camping gear, and hunting equipment.
With the generous support of the Winnipeg Foundation and the Surrender Claims Trust Fund, we have been able to expand our park facilities, which now include play structures and a cement pad for skating in winter and basketball in summer.
